Linus says, “Come stop by the Metropolitan Guinea Pig Rescue’s GUINEA PIG-A-THON this Sunday at the World of Pets Expo in Timonium MD and give me chin scratchies! I LOVE chin scratchies! I will be there all afternoon as a spokespig. My forever family will be there too with information on fostering, adopting, and proper piggy care. I might even get to help out with the syringe feeding demonstration, which means free fruit-flavored mush for me! Whee!”

Join MGPR at Pet Expo at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, Timonium, MD on Sunday, January 29, 2012 for a SQUEEmendously fun Guinea-Pig-A-Thon event. Bring your piggies and join in the fun with contests, seminars, a children’s table, and even glamour shots for your guinea pigs! Contests to include: “Phat, That’s How We Roll” (Biggest Pig Contest), “A-Mazing-Pig” (Maze Race Contest), Costume Contest, and “Gobble, Gobble, Gone” (Fastest Eater Contest).

PIGTURE OF THE DAY: nekkid babies!!
New foster piggies…two more skinny pigs!! They are little pink baby sisters from the same hoarding rescue our previous trio came from. We need to fatten them up so they can get safely spayed in a few months. Welcome Ellette and Suzette!! :)
PIGTURE OF THE DAY: Time for belly tickles!
We have been a busy bunch this week…we said goodbye to three foster piggies who went to their forever home, and took in a new special little guy: meet baby Lucky! :)
He was dumped at a local pet store by an irresponsible breeder (he still has a hole in his ear from having been tagged) and is recovering from multiple bite wounds, one of which abscessed and ruptured soon after he came to live with us…poor baby! :( But he is all cleaned up and on meds now and is feeling much better, safe and snuggly with his two new foster big brothers who think he’s the greatest thing ever, licking and grooming and chasing him around all day. :)
Ms. Flopsy Bigglesworth, one of our trio of skinny piggies we have been fostering during the holidays…they are going off to their new home this weekend or next :)

This is Rudy The Red-Nosed Piggy, one of a trio of baby skinny pigs we are fostering. Rudy likes snuggling with soft fuzzy things to counteract her nakedness, like our plush toy piggy Butterscotch. :D
